Office Plus has primarily focused on general office supplies and multi-functional devices, such as printers. Initially, my role involved assisting with deliveries and installations of hardware due to a workforce shortage in the core business areas.

Although my assigned mentor provided a fundamental understanding of printer technology, my interest gravitated towards software development. Unfortunately, opportunities to engage in software-related tasks were initially limited, so I continued to contribute where needed in hardware installations.

As demand for GDPR documentation services grew within the IT department, I advocated for and was eventually tasked with developing a digital tool to streamline these processes. This project not only aligned more with my career interests but also significantly enhanced operational efficiency.

This transition marked a pivotal moment in my tenure, shifting from manual tasks to more strategic, technology-driven solutions. The experience underscored the importance of perseverance and adaptability in dynamic business environments.

The phrase "Don't work hard, work smart" encapsulates this project perfectly. Initially, my role involved manually creating GDPR documentation for clients, a process that was thorough but time-consuming.

Recognizing an opportunity to improve efficiency, I proposed the development of a digital tool. After navigating some initial hurdles and with approval, I began developing this tool alongside my regular duties.

Dedication to enhancing our process led me to devote additional hours, working early mornings and late evenings to develop a functional prototype within two months. This commitment was driven by a strong desire to add value to the team and streamline our workflow.

The tool I developed was quickly integrated as a standard process, allowing us to handle three times the client volume with fewer resources. It has been in continuous use for six years, undergoing periodic updates to better meet our evolving needs.

This project not only improved our department's operational efficiency but also underscored the importance of innovation and efficiency in professional settings.
