Halvotec's RIOS software serves as a comprehensive administrative solution, aiding educational institutions, rehabilitation centers, and integration services in managing complex processes efficiently. With over 20 years of experience in the sector, RIOS combines modern data management, fast access, smart features, and extensive analytics into a flexible and customizable platform.

During my tenure, I focused on client-specific customizations, enhancing business logic, and integrating new features into the RIOS system. My development tools included .NET Framework and ASP.NET for robust back-end functionalities, complemented by React and TypeScript for dynamic front-end enhancements.

While contributing to both the maintenance and advancement of RIOS functionalities, I adapted to various development environments, including transitioning to TFVC for version control, aligning with the established workflows at Halvotec.

A key highlight of my time at Halvotec was the development of a sophisticated patching tool for the RIOS software. This tool was designed to facilitate seamless updates across client instances, enhancing the overall system reliability and operational efficiency.

The tool functions both as a console application and a service on the client's server, capable of executing updates automatically or on-demand. Its design includes critical features such as data backup, service shutdowns, and updates to files and folders. Post-update, it performs comprehensive sanity checks to ensure all new changes integrate smoothly without disrupting the existing system.

If any discrepancies are detected during the sanity checks, the tool is programmed to revert changes and restore the previous settings from the backup, guaranteeing no loss of service or data integrity. Additionally, the flexibility of scheduling updates during off-peak hours, such as nighttime, minimizes any potential disruption for users, thereby supporting continuous service availability.
