Gen™Website
During my time at Gen, a global leader in Cyber Safety, the mission was to safeguard digital freedom for nearly 500 million users across over 150 countries. With a legacy rooted in the Norton brand, the company's solutions—ranging from Norton to Avira—were a testament to innovation and trust, aiming to ensure user safety, privacy, and confidence in the digital age.
My role at Gen centered on enhancing the backend functionalities of Avira antivirus software. This included refining backend logic, improving telemetry data processes, and optimizing user action handling. These tasks involved understanding the technical requirements and ensuring the seamless operation of software features, contributing to an efficient and responsive user experience.
Additionally, I contributed to cross-platform initiatives, including a white-labeled battery saver feature used across Norton, Avira, and Avast. This experience not only broadened my technical skills but also provided invaluable insights into the interconnections within an industry-leading software ecosystem.
Personal Highlight
A significant highlight of my tenure at Gen was the development and refinement of a white-labeled battery saver feature intended for use across multiple brands within the company, including Norton, Avira, and Avast. This project required a seamless integration of the feature into each brand's unique ecosystem, ensuring that it met diverse customer needs while maintaining a consistent quality and user experience.
Working on this feature allowed me to engage deeply with the business logic and backend systems of multiple leading cybersecurity products. It also challenged me to ensure compatibility and performance across different platforms, ultimately enhancing the utility and efficiency of devices for millions of users worldwide.
